Yad Sarah's mobile dental unit will now be equipped with an advanced x-ray unit that can take pictures and develop them on the spot, allowing the attending dentist to treat the patient without delay. The equipment, purchased by the Helmsley Foundation, will facilitate the treatment of many more patients - and in one visit only. * In the photo: Dr. Guterman, the dentist in charge of mobile dentistry in the north with Naama Bronsky, chief dental assistant and director of Yad Sarah's mobile units.

Yad Sarah continues to revolutionize treatment for elderly people confined to their homes and unable to reach Yad Sarah's geriatric dental clinic in Jerusalem. From now on, the mobile dental unit will reach the patient at home outfitted with advanced equipment that allows for oral cavity imaging and developing on the spot. This innovative and mobile technology now available to the Yad Sarah team enables a cutting edge X-ray as well as immediate results and treatment of the dental condition. Getting in-depth results at the patient's home allows for flexibility and maximum efficiency. The purchase was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Helmsley Foundation, which has allowed for the expansion of the mobile dental service to the periphery of Israel. Until now, the dentists have had to operate in two stages: an initial visit including x-rays was then followed by a subsequent visit and treatment according to the x-ray results deciphered at the clinic. The newly acquired device enables imaging and development on site - and streamlines teamwork. The mobile units will be able to treat more patients in less time. All the most up-to-date medical information is now available to the staff in a fast, computerized, accurate process. Moshe Cohen, Director General of Yad Sarah, presented the new equipment in the presence of the Senior Dental Clinic director, Dr. Michal Lederman, and emphasized that "this innovative technology significantly upgrades the mobile dental system that Yad Sarah offers to seniors in Israel and places Yad Sarah's mobile units – together with the existing advanced equipment – at the forefront of global technology and innovation." Yad Sarah sees the person first and the new equipment will allow many older people to overcome difficult dental problems without leaving home. Thanks to the Helmsley Foundation and thanks to Yad Sarah's computer team and especially to senior technician Yitzhak Raphael who used his knowledge and talent to adapt the advanced technology to the Yad Sarah computer system.
