Director of Yad Sarah's Exhibition and Guidance Centers Dvora Roitman talks about a new program introduced at Yad Sarah House in Rishon LeZion, in close collaboration with the Home and Community Services Department. * In the photo: Naomi Aharoni, volunteer physiotherapist, with Yedida Pen, sitting comfortably on a reclining armchair

The Exhibition and Guidance Centers and the Home and Community Services Department at Yad Sarah are working together to make sure people who are housebound take full advantage of the products and services available to them. Volunteers visit individuals at home, showing them not only how to use special equipment to perform everyday tasks, but also to improve comfort and quality of life. At the same time, the social contact helps lift the spirits of those confined to home and dealing with impaired functioning. Popular equipment includes a comfortable armchair that helps an individual move from a sitting to a standing position, specially designed pillows, telephones for the visually impaired, bathroom accessories and kitchen utensils adapted to the needs of people with disabilities of all kinds.
