Yad Sarah House in Jerusalem dedicates its new hospitality center, in memory of Naftali Eitan.

The newly decorated rooms are for family members whose loved ones are hospitalized at Shaarei Zedek Medical Center and need a place to stay, especially over Shabbat. The three fully equipped guest rooms are designed to provide the guests with the most comfortable accommodation possible. Each room has a bedroom and sitting room. Careful thought went into the planning of the beautiful rooms to make the most of the space. During the first weeks of its operation, Yad Sarah hosted some 20 people. Rina, Naftali's widow, his daughter and son-in-law Aya and Boaz Kamar, grandchildren and family members took part in the ceremony, and Boaz affixed a mezuzah with Yad Sarah founder Uri Lupolianski. Yaakov Lupolianski spoke of his acquaintance with Naftali and his family. "I met him for the first time when I offered him the opportunity to help children at risk, and he had a senior position in the municipality. I met a man who went out of his way to help, who believed in going above and beyond when asked for assistance. He told me that he learned this value from his uncle, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach z "l, with whom he consulted before deciding whether to continue with a military career or to leave in favor of public service in the government of Teddy Kollek in Jerusalem. Over the years, I discovered that he and his wife passed on these fine qualities belongs to their children. Both Rina and Aya are fully committed to the hospitality center." Rina Eitan added, "The idea of the guest rooms was Uri's, and Naftali had a very close connection with Yad Sarah, which grew stronger over the years. We are very privileged to join the family of volunteers and donors to this wonderful institution. Rina added special thanks and gratitude to Rivka Agmon, a volunteer at the Caregiver's Support Center, who helped her during Naftali's illness. "With her help, I developed new ways of thinking that helped me to deal with such a difficult situation. Despite the illness, I was able to maintain a successful relationship with my husband." Aya spoke briefly and said, "I would like to thank the dear Lupolianski family for always being there for my parents and making the hospitality center in my father's memory such a fitting tribute to him." The last to speak was Yad Sarah founder Uri Lupolianski who described Naftali's special personality. "After the Six-Day War, the city's area grew exponentially, and Mayor Teddy Kollek was looking for someone who could handle the job of human resources manager. He was the right man in the right place." " Naftali, with his determination, devotion and joy of life, epitomized the dreams we have for the people of Israel and Jerusalem in particular." Finally, Uri Lupolianski presented Rina and Aya with tea boxes decorated by participants at Yad Sarah's day rehabilitation centers. For information and reservations, contact Asher at 053-316-1601 or *6444. The service is free.
