Yad Sarah Reaches Out to Help Muquadam
Meet Muquadam, a two-and-a-half-year-old boy from Tanzania. He came to Israel under the auspices of Save a Child’s Heart (SACH), an NGO that arranges vital operations for children from developing countries in need of cardiac surgery. And Yad Sarah gave him a wheelchair to take home. In the photo: Muquadam with his mother and Yad Sarah Tourism Director Nadia Alalu.

Traveling with their child with disabilities, this family from England flew to Israel and, with the help of Yad Sarah, is exploring the country, including a trip to the Western Wall and Ein Gedi * Nadia Alalu, director of Tourist Services, reports

It was the first trip to Israel for the family from England .It was son Yehoshua's first flight and despite some challenges, the entire family is enjoying their time here in Israel. Yes, there were many preparations. There were also many concerns. Could it be done? Will Yad Sarah be able to help? The Tourism Desk, part of the Department of Public Relations and Resource Development at Yad Sarah, responded, "Yes, come! It is possible. We can help. Nadia Alalu: "Despite the family's many fears, the family arrived for a week, and a YadSaraVan – specially equipped to transport wheelchair-bound individuals and their families – was waiting at the airport. When they arrived at their hotel, a special chair called a dinosaur was waiting for the child. And, when Yehoshua unexpectedly needed an oxygen tank, it was promptly delivered, saving them an unnecessary trip to the hospital. A trip to the Western Wall? Why not? To Ein Gedi? Enjoy! Yad Sarah is here for you – right up until the moment you board the plane for home. The feelings of excitement and joy are overwhelming. The only thing greater than this family's love for Israel was their desire to share it with their children – all of their children. For this lovely family from England, Yad Sarah made the difference between the possible and the impossible. "If you will it, it is no dream." (Theodor Herzl)
