Overseas students participating in a marketing course at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya found it difficult to hide their excitement about the subject of their final project: marketing the message of Yad Sarah* By Haim Shibi

Overseas students participating in a marketing course at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya found it difficult to hide their excitement about the subject of their final project: marketing the message of Yad Sarah* by Haim Shibi The occasion was the presentation of the final projects this week at the Interdisciplinary Center in the presence of the Yad Sarah team, headed by Israel Meron and Ehud Yardeni of Yad Sarah in Ra'anana, who initiated the connection between the students and the well known charitable organization. The cooperative effort was launched at a meeting held at the center with the participation of Director General of Yad Sarah Moshe Cohen, Director of Public Relations and Resource Development Sepideh Yom Tov, and Israel Meron and Avraham Karni from the Ra'anana branch, who work all year long spreading the message of Yad Sarah. Dr. Yaron Timor, assistant dean of the Arison School of Business at the IDC, a volunteer at Ichud Hatzolah and the son of a Yad Sarah volunteer, emphasized the importance of practical training by students in creating social marketing and public health messages. Moshe Cohen welcomed the participation of the professional staff of the center, and during the course of the conversation, proposals were made for strategic branding and the dissemination of information to the public. Though most people are aware that Yad Sarah lends medical and rehabilitative equipment, many are not aware of the wide spectrum of services available to the public. The more the public knows - the better we can serve them. Now, at the end of their studies, the students have come to present their ideas for expanding Yad Sarah's message to the public: The message that Yad Sarah is much more than just lending wheelchairs. One of the proposals is that Yad Sarah transform its special vans for transporting wheelchair-bound people — YadSaraVans— into mobile neighborhood information centers. The vans will carry informational materials and function as mobile information booths. I told the graduates of the course that it is fascinating that the new media and Internet media generation is recommending face-to-face encounters as an effective way of disseminating important messages. Another suggestion made by the students: Allowing customers to order equipment online and offering a delivery service, so they can avoid a trip to one of Yad Sarah's branches. The service is already operating successfully at the Yasam branches, which offer all types of equipment for purchase for long-term personal use All the proposals will be seriously considered and we thank the students and their teacher, Dr. Yoram Timor, who brought a creative spirit and great devotion to the assignment. !See you next semester
